Had the "Bowl Chicken Dumplings" with collard greens. It was very good today. Debbie, the waitress, was cheerful and had great service.
I asked when making the appt. how much the co payment would be and told "not to worry" , should not be over the ad of $47. I drove over 90 min. to get there and was then told it would be $220. I could not afford that so it was a waste of time.
By far one of my fave breakfast spots in the area! It's a classic diner, on the side of a busy road. Blink and you might miss it, but you'd be seriously out of luck! The food is delicious, the waitresses are really sweet, and the prices are fantastic. You have to try this spot!
Breakfast is great during breakfast hours. Large servings and fresh biscuits, grits and gravy. But don't order breakfast later in the day or you'll get cold grits, lumpy gravy and hard biscuits. The waitress will eventually get around to take your order and she might get it right the first time. The Cafe could use a good cleaning. I am a stickler about dust, dead flies and spider webs. And don't get me started about the entry door and door handle. I do recommend their morning breakfast. You won't be disappointed.
Visited a friend that lives in Roanoke and he turned me on to Dove Creek Cafe. It was one of the best Cafe's I have ever been to, food was very good and service was great. Can't wait till next year to eat there again.
